"While today's home phone decor might include an understated mobile device dock and maybe an old cordless, back in the 1950s the new mode was candy-colored phones (for every member of the family) that doubled as intercoms, strewn throughout the house. Produced in cooperation with McCall's Magazine, this film was made to be released at the same time as the November 1961 issue of the magazine (the film is profiled therein, in a feature about budget decorating). Decorating Unlimited follows one day in the life of a typical housewife - only she is charged with redecorating her new home, under budget, before her husband gets home with a client for a dinner party. With some magic realism and a fairy godfather, the house is transformed, including an entire up-to-date home communications system: including a phone-response doorbell, the "Bell Chime" and a phone/intercom, called the "Home Interphone"."
