Rejissyor: KNTV (Television station : San Jose, Calif.). Lu Ryden interviews with entertainers Jimmy Dean, Bob Hope, and Flip Wilson, on four separate segments from Ryden's show on San Jose's KNTV Channel 11. At least one of these (Flip Wilson) was filmed at Bimbo's 365 nightclub in San Francisco. The second segment on this clip is a feature on the Brebner Talent Agency in San Francisco that can also be viewed as a separate clip (see https://archive.org/details/hsj2023-17_KNTV_Brebner_Agency_SFO_clip). Jimmy Dean is interviewed in 1968 or 1969 after his performance. He answers questions about whether entertainers should talk politics, his views on the U.S.S. Pueblo investigation, the military band performing with him, and his opinion of Vietnam draft dodgers. Bob Hope is seen trying out a joke golf club with Ryden, then sitting on a sagging sofa next to Ryden. She asks him about troop morale in Vietnam, whether his act is different for college students vs. military, the enlisted troop response to rioting college students, and then gives him a kiss on the cheek on behalf of the mothers and wives of the men in Vietnam. Hope is then seen walking into a stage to loud applause. Flip Wilson is interviewed in his dressing room at Bimbo's 365 club in San Francisco after his performance. They discuss performing on the nightclub circuit, doing improv, trying out new material on audiences, different routines for different audience, his connection to San Francisco, and whether or not he does racial material. Part of a collection of films from Ryden's shows and interviews on KNTV between 1965-1970. The original films are part of History San Jose's permanent collection.
