Rejissyor: Matthew Paul Argall. I don't know if this video is legal or not, but here's a collection of excerpts from public domain United States television programming from 1951. I give a (lousy) introduction at the start. Some of these clips are very pleasant and charmingly dated, while others make it clear that there is a reason times have changed. Represented are clips of shows from CBS, ABC, NBC, DuMont, and first-run syndication. Just remember, most of these shows aired live.
