His Girl Friday is a 1940 American comedy film directed by Howard Hawks starring Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell and Ralph Bellamy. Walter Burns (Cary Grant) is a newspaper editor who learns his ex-wife is about to marry a bland insurance man and settle down to a quiet life.
