Sponsored by New York’s largest-circulation newspaper, 17 Days is set during the citywide strike of newspaper delivery truck drivers in the summer of 1945. The film shows how the public literally went the extra mile to get their papers directly from the Daily News . Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia does his part by reading aloud the Dick Tracy comic strip on the radio.
